New Life of New York City is a non-profit Christian organization that exists for the purpose of reaching at-risk inner-city teenagers through developing personal relationships and engaging them in a diverse number of programs. New Life's purpose is to reach kids who desperately need a stabilizing force in their lives and who need to know people care about them unconditionally. By earning the right to be heard, through proven friendships, the New Life worker gains the opportunity to share the Christian faith and challenges, counsels and supports the young person who may be struggling with emotional, spiritual, familial and vocational issues through the turbulent years of adolescence. The mentoring relationships that are developed enable the talents and abilities of teenagers to be recognized and their energies redirected into becoming productive individuals. New Life has been serving New York City youth since 1973.
